The Source of Excellence
Both the Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) processes enable Sunremo to exercise precise control over every individual carbon fiber strand used in frame construction. With over thirty years of experience, we have elevated the standard of carbon fiber craftsmanship to a level that rivals the excellence found in Formula One engineering.
BCS | Braided Carbon Structure
“Braided Carbon Structure” is our proprietary term for weaving fibers into complex bi-directional ‘sleeves.’ These preforms are highly tunable — Sunremo currently selects from 16 distinct filament types to perfectly tailor each layup. This advanced technique achieves a rare feat in the cycling industry: continuous, unbroken carbon fibers that run the entire length of a structural component, optimizing strength, vibration damping, and durability.
RTM | Resin Transfer Molding
Resin Transfer Molding is the optimal method for minimizing imperfections in composite structures. By injecting resin under high pressure between precisely machined external and internal molds, air pockets are completely expelled and voids between layers are eliminated. The result is a denser, more uniform, and more reliable carbon matrix.
FCT | Forged Carbon Technology
We utilize forged carbon in critical frame components to maximize strength and longevity. Our FCT forged carbon components — such as seatpost heads and dropouts—offer up to 20 times the fatigue life of equivalent steel or aluminum parts, while being significantly lighter. Furthermore, the high fiber content (up to 60%) effectively resists crack propagation, ensuring enduring performance and safety.
